The Shed, Tilford U.K.

A place to play, a space to create, some time to think.

A tribute to Peter Woodd

Peter H L Woodd 1944 - 2022

“I’m goin down the shed!”

…he would shout. To Peter, work was play and play was work. There was zero distinction between the two. Time spent in the shed was tinkering and honing the business strategies of Nanoco surrounded by reminders of his favorite hobbies and passions. Portraits of the classic boats that he adored and restored. Models of warplane spitfires and tiger moths.

After Peter passed, one of the most notable things in his shed was his final writings on boards describing exactly who he is and why he does what he does. He noted that his father had a shed where he enjoyed accompanying him making things.

His father was clearly an inspiration to him. Peter writes - “He said so many times, love what you do and no experience in life is wasted…I now have my shed where I play with ideas and thoughts. He is always here.”

Over the 38 years of my life, one of many things I can say about Peter is he clearly, unequivocally loved what he did. There was not a weekday or weekend that he did not get up and get sh*t done. He absorbed every moment and never wasted a second of time without action. Any Impediment to action advanced action. What stood in the way, became the way.

Peter, Dad, you too are an inspiration. You’re always with us. He is always here…

Love your son,

H, Harry, Bonzo
